We have motherboard ASRock 970M Pro3 and 3 different types TPM modules (http://dl3.joxi.net/drive/2019/08/27/0015/2653/1002077/77/43334e1ed3.jpg):
1. ASRock TPM2-S on chip Nuvoton NPCT650
2. ASRock TPM-S v2.0 on chip Infineon TPM SLB 9665 TPM2.0.
3. ASRock TPM-S Module (V 1.2) on Nuvoton NPCT420AA0WX

Problems:
1. In BIOS we look good picture http://joxi.ru/l2ZXPp4Iz7yGBr only for ASRock TPM-S Module (V 1.2) on Nuvoton NPCT420AA0WX.
2. For TPM2-S and TPM-S v2.0 we look this: http://joxi.ru/a2X4Bvzsw4koo2 "Support turned OFF"

On page specification motherboard https://www.asrock.com/MB/AMD/970M%20Pro3/index.asp#Specification no information about which TPMs motherboard support.

Please help, we bought 100 x motherboards 970M Pro3 and 100 x ASRock ASRock TPM2-S on chip Nuvoton NPCT650 and they don't want work together.

How we can turn on support for TPM2-S on chip Nuvoton NPCT650 on this motherboard?

Thanks!

I would install the CPU with cooler and it's fan, the RAM and the GPU and place it on the desk. Connect the PSU, Monitor and test, if you can go to the bios, loading defaults and restart. Then switch off, unplug the PSU and install the drive (M2 or SATA HDD), where you want to place your OS.

After the installation and checks, if everything runs OK, shut down and unplug the PSU.

Remove the GPU and HDD (if you use no M2) and install the board in the case. Then move on with the rest.

Believe me, if there will be problems with the setup/installation, it is more easy to deal with as if everything is in the case and nothing works...

Thank you very much for the helpful suggestions.

I had been thinking along similar lines regarding installing the CPU prior to installing in the case. I was debating then about when the heatsink/fan should be attached, I'm not sure how difficult it is once in the case.

I hadn't thought of installing the ram, but I'll do that too.

I just wonder if there are any "gotchas" that I should be watching out for. I've already put the power supply in, and then took it back out and attached all the wiring for it, since it seemed pretty difficult to do once installed.

Does anybody put the power supply in the top slot instead of at the bottom slot?

Thanks again.

OK, I was typing while Ray62 was posting, but I'll put the cooler/fan on too before installing in the case.

I agree that it would be optimum to test it outside of the case, but this case does look big enough that if there is a problem it should be possible to work on. What I'm thinking is I'll have the case laying on the side, so the motherboard is horizontal during installation and testing.

Okay, been busy all day testing 3 AM4 boards:

X370 Gaming K4 - Updated to 5.50 using my 1600x following all the steps,
installed my R5 3600 and after about a minute of power cycling the system
POSTed and booted right into windows. Turned the system off, powered back on
and loaded XMP without issue and booted into windows. Entered sleep, woke from
sleep, checked XMP, still loaded.

X370 Taichi - Updated to 5.80, exactly the same result as the Gaming K4, everything working as it should.

X570 Taichi - Installed CPU, power cycle for almost 2 minutes then POSTed, had
to clear CMOS to make XMP work but after a CMOS clear XMP was up and running fine.

Benchmarked all 3 configs and found the cinebench R20 results to be within a
few points of each other. PBO2 naturally only works on the X570 so I tested
with PBO off.

The RAM I tested with:

8gb Corsair Vengeance LPX 2800: CMK8GX4M2A2800C16R

I will look at trying my 16gb 3600 kit later in the week, I will need to pull
it from my main system to test with.

All 3 configs power on from cold boot without power cycling or restoring CMOS
defaults. It would seem the latest run of BIOSes are doing their job rather
well, at least with the RAM I used. It seems that as with previous Ryzen
generations, the largest problem factor is RAM compatibility, at least now that
the more major bugs have been ironed out.

It took a while for me to source a 3600 CPU, they are not easy to come by where
I live, none of the 3000 series are. I have it now though and will be busy
getting all my testing done over the next few weeks.

Can you get to the bios when using FCLK 1800Mhz?

I recommend also using the DRAM calculator and the HowTos, at least for inspiration.
And there are lots of examples for results of successful overclockings on the DC page and in the help section of the program.

And use the bios user profiles for your working settings to come back, if you need a Clear CMOS...

BTW: DRAM Calculator for Ryzen 1.6.1 has some issues.
DRAM Calculator for Ryzen 1.6.0.3 should be good for Matisse too.

AMD Motherboards : Latency Is Sky High With Ram Settings

Subject: Latency Is Sky High With Ram Settings
Posted: 28 Aug 2019 at 12:20pm

Hello, I just recently upgraded my ram to samsung 3600Mhz. I am able to run it at 3600 on my b350m Pro4 board in Windows 10. Only problem is, when I use the program LatencyMon to check my numbers, it tells me my system has a hard time handling real time audio and to update my Bios to fix this issue. I get constant huge latency spikes. Aside from the Latency issue, my system runs fine with my ram settings at 3600Mhz.

When I lower the Mhz to 3200, I don't get any errors or spikes. Anything above 3200MHz causes latency spikes. I tried increasing the voltage on the ram to 1.4v(highest I can go on this board) but the Latency problem still occurs. Any idea as to why? Any possible solution to reducing latency without lowering my rams default speed? I am on the latest 6.00 BIOS.

should be a mem error problem use a proper memtest if there are errors that should be causing the latency

but then again you didnt state your system specs not what latency numbers youre gettingin your test. it could be a ryzen 3000 with an unequal fclk

Thanks for the reply.

"it could be a ryzen 3000 with an unequal fclk"

I have no idea what this means. I am currently running a 3800x at default clock speeds. Someone else suggested I tinker with the chipset/board voltages. As for memory testers, I heard those things are not very reliable/accurate. I was thinking of trying Prime95. I have no blue screens/crashes/freezes or audio stutters with the ram at 3600. Everything runs fine.

The latency issue has me wondering if games will perform worse(more stutters, frame drops) If latency has no effect on this, then I was thinking of just leaving it at 3600 despite the spikes latencymon tells me Im getting.

Hi,
I just encountered the same issue.
On my end, I have similar specs except for 1x16GB RAM 3000Mhz and 1xM.2 480GB NVME SSD
I have the exact message from the windows install.

Did you find a way to install Windows10 after all?

Thanks

I don't think it's my timings that are a problem. I want to get a stable boot at Mem 3600: FCLK 1800 MHz, which I should be able to get with the default XMP profile and some Voltage mods alone.

I'm linking my OC.net post, so I'm not double posting on two forums all the time.

https://www.overclock.net/forum/13-amd-general/1732214-support-3900x-infinity-fabric-1800mhz-oc-issues.html    - Sorry for the non linky text

Personally, at the moment, it feels like AsRock's default Voltages on my X570 board are way too high and have been set up there to give the greatest range of stability to people. Unfortunately, the fact they are so high doesn't give you any overclocking headroom at all.

The infinity fabric (the architecture that connects the 2 clusters of cores or
"CCXs") typically runs at the same frequency as the RAM, with Ryzen 3000
however it is now possible to run the IF (fclk) at a lower multiplier which
enables higher RAM frequencies at the cost of latency. The difference should be
negligible but some RAM combinations may not play nice with it. That said, most
games prefer frequency when it comes to RAM so I would just give it a try and
see how it plays. You can use something like MSI afterburner to check your
0.01% lows in both configs and see which gives you the better experience, 3600
or 3200.

As for audio, "live audio" refers to audio recording. You want as low latency
as possible when recording tracks and keeping them time aligned, playback is
not an issue however. It would effect streaming audio too but no one will care
if your speech is 0.01s off time to when you said it

If you will not be doing any multi track recording (making music for example)
then you don't need to worry about it.

Hi

Sometimes my MB wont soft reboot, it just get stuck with 7A, and spinning everything on max RPM.
A cold reset always works, boots normally then.

BIOS is all default latest.
What does this code mean? Why is there no description for it in the manual?

Thanks

hi There all,

I'd like to report, if still relative to anyone, that I did get my new R5-3600x running nice and normal using bios 5.81 on my Asrock b350 Fata1ity itx/ac FINALLY after days of tinkering with Corsair and Ballistics kits. To no avail even though with 1st gen Ryzen 1600, 1700 and 2400G had no probs with any reasonable setting or over clocks. Then I got a 16G kit of G-Skills 3200C16D-16GSXKB-16-18-18-38 from a friend in exchange for my Ballisticts kit. Soon after I managed to get into the bios after days of tinkering between my R5-1600 and bios' 4.70, 5.30, 5.70, and 6.0 which none of let me enter the bios with my usual AMD fore mentioned 3000 Corsair and 3200 Ballistics. Then I tried the G-Skills and got into bios 5.70 more often during boot cycles which I had let run over and over till it stopped cycling w/ just fans were full throttle and try again changing bios setting until i got less and less cycles between successful bios screens. what I realized is, Gen 1 boards or Gen 3 Ryzen 5 or the combo needs 1.4v on memory, memory set to 3000mhz because max Infinity Fabric on Gen 1 boards is 1500 max and it defaulted here setting different mem and voltage though all my attempts at successful boots. Also I cant restart the board, must be fully shut down to enable a stable boot that is and has been stable through all my test. Sometimes, i still get a boot cycle but only 1-3 times max and retain all setting as default in bios 5.81 (the ONLY bios that works for me WITH THESE G-SKILLS) Also, it improved further when after enabling XMP and setting mem down to 3000 with 1.4v, I then tightened timings from the stock 16-18-18-38 down to 14-16-16-36 and now my system is pretty consistent in all my benches and games, peppier and higher scores. eg. Cinebench before tightening was 1075 score :( to 1635 :) So, I hope this is helpful for someone out there. My games no longer experience the stuttering they once were with my R5-1600 being bottle necked. Now a Happy Camper here and new life out of my 1080ti and work bench!
