UPDATE: I might have found the root cause of the usb disconnecting issue, it was the USB Type C port!! I tried connecting the USB C to my devices (Phone and tablet), and there it goes, the disconnecting noise stopped but on the Device Manager, it is still showing the same USB Descriptor Request Failed reason. I think ASROCK need to provide the USB Type C driver for windows 10.

That's strange. I did notice not very many of the b550 boards have the USB c port which is one reason I purchased this board. When you go into the bios is it really slow and sluggish when navigating the menus? If so it's probably not the driver as the USB controller is connecting and disconnecting even when in the bios.

Did you update the bios to 1.10? Just curious because that's the first thing I did when I set up my computer. Then a week later it was broken.

I'm surprised there aren't more people having this issue. Maybe it's just a matter of time. Mine did work perfectly for like a week.

Z370 Taichi BIOS 3.40 8700K

I am having a problem when trying to boot from an MBR device whether it is a HD or USB.
The message I get is to select the proper device to boot from and try again.
I can see both entries for the device in the boot selection menu. But the only one I can boot from is UEFI. For example, If I create a Bootable USB using RUFUS and select MBR/UEFI in the creation, I see two entries for the drive but I can only boot from the UEFI entry. I should be able to boot from either.

CSM is enabled in the BIOS. I tried to reflash the BIOS with the same version in case it was corrupted but it would let me.

I know this was working a while back as I was able to install windows in MBR.
mode. The reason I wanted MBR mode was I have three copies of windows on three different drives and select the one I want by F11. I can no longer boot the MBR drives.

Hello, this is my first post here and I hope I'm posting this in the right place.

I have a Asrock X570 Pro4, which works really well with AMD 3700X Processor G. Skill memory and 5700XT graphic card. Updating first to BIOS v3.00 and then v3.10 I noticed text at the bottom right screen of the boot menu (near F11 option) which goes A2, then switches to B4 and then 98. This text only appears if Fast boot option is disabled. I wonder what that means, because the computer boots fine and is very stable.

Thanks to anyone for help.

Hi I have a ab350 itx board paired with a 2200g and I have set a fan curve that I like. however the source for the curve is provided by the "CPU temp" which is apparently the sensor BELOW the CPU which varies from 35-45c. This is totally wrong and I don't have the option to set the source as the actual core temp. I don't have the Tctrl option either which I heard is a fix.

Yes, I have upgraded the BIOS to 1.10. TBH, I thought updating the BIOS would resolve the USB issue but its NOT.

About the sluggishness of the BIOS, previouly I thought it was due to my peripherals connected to the USB 3 port then I tried to switch to the USB 2 port instead but it doesnt help to solve the sluggishness. After that I browse around the BIOS menus, and I have found out it was due to the HD support of BIOS. Simply change the BIOS resolution to a lower one will solve that.

Well, this is my 1st pc build and 1st motherboard , I will live with that USB issue for now, until I switch to a better motherboard in the future. Definitely will not be getting another ASROCK!

If you already have a go ahead from ASRock tech support for an RMA I would take it.
Even if it isn't the issue you come out of it knowing your board has been thoroughly
checked or replaced

Board model: X370 Taichi
BIOS version: P5.60 (latest Summit Ridge support)
CPU: Ryzen 7 1800X (3.6-4.0Ghz)
RAM: G.Skill Flare X 3200Mhz 32Gb (2x F4-3200C14D-16GFX)

Notes:
User Interface

CPU Fan 1 Setting - CPU Fan 1 Temp Source shows "Monitor M/B" and "Monitor CPU, however this should be "Monitor Tctrl" and "Monitor CPU"

Personally I do not trust the fan control at all and not sure what the fans react to

Bios upgrade performed nominal + flushed all previous settings.
Re-flash did not solve the issue.

Workaround:
- Set "Monitor CPU" manually to be safe
- Use Asrock Tuning Utility to set fan profiles

The rest of the build seems to run stable with CPU 3.6-4.0Ghz (AMD CBS + Manual both stable) and 32Gb of RAM running at a stable 3200Ghz which is as promised capabilities, however it does require some minor sanitized settings.
It would be nice to finally see a fully bugless BIOS for the X370 Taichi flagship after those years. Someone at Asrock Support promised once LOL

Apart from that CPU cooling control UI bug this build did not give me a single BSOD and performed as intended in my case, however the bug around cooling control murders all the other success.

Can't wait to see the Glory BIOS for the X370 Taichi

Please guys, if you are not upgrading to Ryzen 3000 DO NOT UPDATE your BIOS at this early stage. In a few months all these teething issues should be resolved and you can try out the latest BIOS version if that is of interest to you. Generally speaking, if your system is working as intended and you do not have issues with the BIOS then don't update. Ryzen in particular is a fickle beast that is prone to issues from one BIOS version to the next.

Most of the changes in the new updates are explicitly to add Ryzen 3000 support and will have absolutely no benefit to first and second gen Ryzen systems.

This advice will likely apply for all future Ryzen launches and even to intel systems when a new CPU range is launched on an existing socket.

I noticed through the years that this is a common issue coming back every time.
Of course it's good to warn people everywhere that different CPU's on the same board require different builds, how why Asrock throws them all in one list is something of discussion too.

Just having 3-4 tabs under BIOS to direct the customer to the correct CPU used might solve this like day and night.

Subject: AB350M Pro 4 Question About RAM Compability
Posted: 24 Aug 2020 at 3:22am

Hello everyone,

I was thinking of upgrading my RAM further a bit and I came across these two great deals on Corsair Vengeance RAM sticks. I am currently running two 2x4GB 2666mhz Corsair Vengeance sticks.

1. Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 16GB (2x8GB) 3200MHz CL16 1.35V XMP 2.0 Black CMK16GX4M2B3200C16
2. Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 16GB (2x8GB) 3000MHz CL16 1.35V XMP 2.0 Black CMK16GX4M2D3000C16

My question is: Are these ram sticks compatible with my build? Has anybody faced any troubles with them?

My specs:
Asrock AB350M Pro4
Ryzen 3 1200 @3.7 Ghz Summit Ridge
GTX 1060 6GB
Seasonic M12II-EVO 520W PSU

Also I could not find Memory QVL for Summit Ridge CPU's in the official page of my mobo. It has disappeared for some reason.

Thank you for your answers.

Raining here all weekend so thought I'd mess with the ram again. This time I used AMD Ryzen Master. In Game Mode set it to Auto Overclocking and the memory clock and fabric clock to 1800. Checked it with CPU-Z and the ram was at 1800 in the bios but the timings were higher than the XMP profile, 26-25-25-25-58-85. It booted into Windows. Reset the timings back to XMP profile's 18-22-22-22-42-65. It went into a boot loop. Voltage was still at 1.35V. Managed to get back into the bios and tried increasing the ram voltage to 1.40V, No go. Set it back to 1600. Stuck there for now.
