Hi, i recently purchased a b450 gaming k4 fatality and i put the whole thing together the whole parts list is,
ryzen 5 3600
b450 gaming k4 fatality
msi ventus rtx 2070
evga 600w bq semi modular
seagate 2tb
corsair 275r air case
ballistix 16gb 3200 ram (not rgb)

Turning on the power supply causes a red light to flash or pulse under the heatsink on the bottom right of the motherboard, theres no fanspin turning the powerbutton on does nothing. Ive checked all the conections, the power switch led +/- and reset switch are in the right place. Ive checked the manual and didnt find anything on it. Ive also checked the board is not touching the case theres no extra standoffs touching the board. Is there an incompatibiliy? is the board dead? any help is appreciated, thank you.

Subject: X570 Pro4 RAM issues after Update to 3.20
Posted: 25 Aug 2020 at 9:23pm

Good Day,

Yesterday, I installed to the latest 3.20 BIOS version (from 3.10) for my X570 Pro4 MOBO. As expected the update was successful and all my settings were deleted and I started placing them back as required.

For my RAM the update deleted the XMP profile so I set that one back up to the (it defaulted to 2133 MHz from 3600) to 3600MHz with 1.35v 18-22-22-48 timings. I saved my settings and did the reboot. My MOBO did its power cycle but it never successfully POST after that it shut itself off and returned to the original defaults. I tried a second time by setting the XMP value again and rebooted and the second time it POST without a power cycle. Just to make sure I went and rebooted my computer from Windows and after the reboot I couldn't get POST and it went back to defaults.

I decided to downgrade back to my previous BIOS 3.10 (which was the last working one) and the issue has not presented itself when I changed the RAM timings using the XMP profile and the system is booting and rebooting normally.

I'll keep the 3.10 BIOS for now. I did a stress test last Saturday with Prime95 for 7:30HRs and it didn't throw an error. Therefore I am not sure if there's something else going on. Has anyone experienced similar issues after updating the the latest 3.20 BIOS?

These are my RAM specs...
Corsair 32GB (2x16) 3600 memory - details on webpage below
https://www.corsair.com/us/en/Categories/Products/Memory/VENGEANCE-LPX/p/CMK32GX4M2D3600C18

My other Specs...
AsRock X570 Pro 4 MOBO
Ryzen 9 3900X CPU (at normal clock speeds 3.8GHz and 4.6GHz boost)
Corsair CX750X PSU 750 Watts
AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT (Sapphire Nitro+) with 8GB/video memory

Thank You!

My ab350 is with an a320 bios, so I cant overclock and I can't update the bios because it always says "No image file detected".

Things I've tried:

1. Tried all bios from: https://www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/AB350M-HDV/index.asp
using instant flash and even DOS

2. Tried all others AB350 bios (other models) and even A320 bios, same error.

3. Tried App Shop and there is no update available

Posted: 26 Aug 2020 at 1:46am

I have the exact same problem as the original poster. Only exception is that i have a B550m Mortar motherboard.
I've also tried the exact same steps as in the Original post. Nothing has worked.
It gives me a NDIS 10400 adapter reset on my Realtek PCIe 2.5gbE Family Controller. When i have a Torrent active, be it upload or download it dies way more often, so i guess it can only take so much traffic before it is forced into a reset somehow...
Someone needs to fix this, ASAP, even more so if its true that its an old problem with Realtek.
I'm going to be emailing Realtek about this aswell but wanted to add one more with the exact same problems to this thread. Maybe it gets their attention and forces them to pull their thumbs out and do fix it.

Subject: x470 TaiChi Ult Mem problems - Corsair Veng 3000

Hello,

I have the following:

- X470 Taichi Ultimate (BIOS 4.20).
- Ryzen 9 3800x (12 / 24)

I have the following RAM

Module Manufacturer:     Corsair
Module Part Number:     CMW128GX4M8C3000C16
Module Series:             Vengeance RGB PRO

I am only using 64GB ( 4 x 16GB). The sepecificaiton of the RAM is located below using Typhoon Burner.

I really need your help because I'm having some stability problems. I try to use the XMP profile in the BIOS. Let me explain the stability problems I am having.

- I can run Intel burn test for over two hours with no problem, that is also including the GPU at 100%. So that is really stable. When I am in Windows everything is good so what is the problem.

- Time to time when I turn on the computer. Buyers will reset and go back to factory defaults.
- Other times, the red display shows up as 39.
- Other times, the system restarts no less than three times before factory Reset.

I'm pretty sure this is something to do with the RAM, Because of this post: http://forum.asrock.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=11792&title=taichi-x470-memory-problems-corsair-veng-3000

I would really appreciate it if I can get some help with this, I cannot change the Roundhouse don't have any money. I'm aware that I need to set the times manually which is perfectly fine. Please have a look at the image below,
THANK YOU!!!!!!

Has been some time since I posted here. My ultimate solution was to remove the bios battery. After removing the battery, the BIOS splash is always displayed. When I find some time I will check if it no longer has a charge.

AMD Motherboards : Beeping while sleeping

Hi,

I have a new Deskmini A300 computer which works fine, but I noticed a beeping sound when it is in SLEEP mode (so fan is not turning). It is not loud at all, but when I'm at my desk not working on the computer I constantly hear it.

By listening closely I'd split up the beep as follows:

- A recurring beep in sync with the blue system power led
- 2 alternating sounds at a different pitch (like a tiny siren)

Any ideas on what the cause is and if it can be remedied?

Deskmini A300
CPU: AMD Ryzen 3 3200G
Memory: Crucial DDR4 SODIMM 1x8GB 2666
Storage: Kingston A2000 1000GB M.2 SSD
Operating System: Windows 10 (64-bit)

I had the same problem as you with a different ASRock mobo: X570 Extreme4.
I think this is not a mobo defect but a design defect or some configuration issue that we can not change.

I've been pondering something.

Would it be possible to create two arrays?

The first 120GB as a raid1 and the rest of the capacity as raid0?

I want to boot linux from the raid1 and use the raid0 as l2arc for a ZFS storage pool :)

Subject: Cannot instal windows 10 on Nvme SSd

hi all,

I need your help with the nvme ssd ( kingston A2000) 500gb . .I tried to instal Windows 10 pro 64 bit on it but each time want to click Next to instal I got an error that its not possible .
The drive 0 itself is not recognized as partition and making partition is not working while in de windows setup .
This was the error : 0x8030024
The Nvme ssd is recognized in the Uefi .

My bios is up to date ( v.7.54 )... on Asrock z170extreme 4 .

I7 6700k , 2133mhz ddr4 , gtx 1080ti sea hawk x .

I tried to unplug all my devices and tried to instal windows 10 when they where unplugged but without results . I also wanted to see if the nvme ssd was recognized in the windows 10 itself so I installed windows 10 on my older ssd .
I have found that he was recognized but I couldn't make the partition cause all the options where Blanco, all i could do was check the settings .

I also tried this metod ...

the UEFI, in the?Boot?screen at the bottom, is an option called?CSM?(Compatibility Support Module.)?CSM?is Enabled by default. Click on?CSM?to reveal its sub-options.

The sub-option you are looking for is called?Launch Storage OpROM Policy. The default setting is Legacy Only. Change the?Launch Storage OpROM Policy?setting to?UEFI Only.

That's the main thing that must be configured. In the?Storage Configuration?screen, the?SATA Mode?should be set to either?AHCI?(default) or?RAID. This is really for any SATA drives you will be using, but is also needed for PCIe AHCI SSDs. Those are described in the PCIe SSD description section if you are interested. Why anyone would be using IDE mode with modern mother boards and drives is beyond me, but just in case?do NOT use IDE mode!

Once these options are configured,?Save and Exit?the UEFI, and?go right back into the UEFI.

Not quite done yet. Do NOT be worried if your PCIe SSD is not listed in the?Storage Configuration?screen or?Boot?order list.?That does not matter at all.

What does matter is the entry for your Windows installation media, whether a USB flash drive (the preferred method) or optical disk, in the Boot order.

You should find an entry in the Boot order like this:?UEFI: <Installation Media Device Name>.

"Installation Media Device Name" is the name of whatever you are using as the installation media.

You will see another entry with the prefix AHCI.?Do NOT select the AHCI entry.?You MUST use the entry with the UEFI prefix.

Once you select the?UEFI?entry, save and exit if everything else is in order, and the Windows installation will begin. There is no need to format your PCIe SSD before the Windows installation. It is much better to allow the Windows Installation program to format your PCIe SSD. It will be GPT formatted and have an EFI System partition, and a Recovery partition.

Once Windows is installed on your PCIe AHCI or NVMe SSD, the entry in the Boot order list appear as "Windows Boot Loader" or "Windows Boot Loader: <SSD name>", depending upon the UEFI version used with your board.

If you are using a PCIe NVMe SSD (any Intel 750 SSD, and any DC P3500 SSD, Samsung 950 Pro SSD) don't forget to install the NVMe driver that the manufactures provide for their NVMe SSDs.

The Windows NVMe driver is known to have write performance issues, which I noticed when installing Windows 10 on a 950 Pro. That installation was much slower (five+ minutes) than installing Windows 10 on an AHCI SM951 (three minutes at most.)

It is the best practice with?ANY Windows installation to only have the target OS drive powered on during the Windows installation. That is true and recommended in this case as well. If you are using an optical drive, that of course may be powered on and won't cause any problem.

NOTE:?PCIe?NVMe?SSDs will NOT be listed in the Storage Configuration screen in the UEFI.?They will be shown in the System Browser tool in the UEFI, and of course will be shown in Windows like any other drive.

I am also having this issue. Not only that the bios splash screen has been resized and I can only see the top 2 options the bottom 2 are cut off. Bios version 3.00 and 3.10 also broke xmp, ram defaults to 2666mhz and I can manually set it to 3200mhz but it will not let me reach 3600mhz. I get the black screen of death. Considering reverting back to 2.60.

The XMP has been broken since version 1.00. I adjusted the memory settings at every Bios update, but must say that the computer is very stable. Is this just a cosmetic bug? I would like to enable BitLocker but don't want to encounter some more issues. Speaking of BitLocker, make sure you disable Fast boot before proceeding to encrypt the drive, otherwise you won't be able to type the pass key at boot.

Thanks to anyone for help.
