Ok I had to recognize that the power brick is not my problem.
I opened my other PC, a big tower, removed the DVD burner which
is a 5.25 inch drive from LG and connected it to the videorecorder-PC.
I could read and write all CD and DVD types with it .
To summarize my experiences:
- the DVD burner from the videorecorder-PC fails in the videorecorder-PC
but not in my big tower so it is ok.
- the DVD burner from the big tower works in the videorecorder-PC so it's board is ok.
My conclusion:
- the DVD burner of the videorecorder-PC is not compatible with it's board.
- I should send the burner back to the dealer and try a different type of burner.
Does anybody have better ideas ?
